The C Factor; Civic Engagment

idea by The1JLA

What is your idea and how will it increase Millennial civic engagement in your community?:

This is a focus of going into urban/rural communities and putting the "COOL" back into the Civic Engagement process . In 2008 I saw a great excitement in my community about Civic Engagement. I was actually in line behind a Grandmother, Mother and Son (1st time every voting) all of them ready to "change" the world through their right of voting by a single CHOICE. When they made it known of who they where voting for it was "COOL" for them; meaning they had faith in the decision they where about to make. In that moment I became witness to everyone in line beginning to engage in a conversation about the nominees.

How would your idea be implemented?:

Going to "The Block" in the Hood; Basket Ball Court(s), Barbe Shops & Solon, Welfare Office....Block Parties...As an incentive I have T-Shirts I made as a gift.

Where does your project take place?:

York, PA
